A consumer may be entitled to receive compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, loss of physical capacity, pain, suffering, and/or mental anguish if they are injured by a defective product. They may also be entitled to punitive damages as punishment to a manufacturer or distributor for disregard to consumer safety or flagrant misconduct.
