Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Bayer) received multiple warnings from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its oral birth control YAZ (including Yasmin). According to the FDA, Bayer repeatedly misled consumers in both television and Internet advertisements regarding the potentially deadly side effects associated with using YAZ or Yasmin, including the threat of blood clots or stroke. In response to the federal regulations violations, the FDA sent the makers of YAZ multiple warning letters.

In our firm's ongoing commitment to the community, LaBovick & LaBovick, P.A. donated $1,800 to the PACE Center for Girls during the firm's 2009 annual Give Back campaign. In addition, Esther Uria LaBovick, Esq., highlights the PACE Center for Girls in the current LaBovick & LaBovick PSA campaign "Attorneys Caring for the Community." Located in West Palm Beach, the PACE Center for Girls provides gender specific programs for at-risk teen girls.

On Thursday, January 28, The Palm Beach Post published an article profiling the professional and personal accomplishments of Esther Uria LaBovick, Esq. The Palm Beach Post's "Meet Your Neighbor" profile describes how Mrs. LaBovick divides her time between being a mom, helping to run the law firm, and serving her community.

In conjunction with our firm's community outreach program, LaBovick & LaBovick, P.A. will host two free Mortgage Modification and Foreclosure Defense clinics for homeowners at our Palm Beach Gardens office, on Wednesday, February 24, and again on Wednesday, March 10. Both sessions will begin at 6 p.m. Attorney Scott R. Haft, Esq. and our Director of Loss Mitigation, Paul D. Baltrun, will conduct the clinics.

Designed to provide advice and hope to distressed homeowners, the free clinics will focus on the financial difficulties many families in South Florida are facing. In addition, the clinics will inform homeowners of their options to avoid foreclosure, and provide information to help them work toward financial independence. Mr. Haft and Mr. Baltrun will discuss topics including mortgage modification, defense against foreclosure, and bankruptcy as a viable option for debt relief.
