Located roughly 15 miles north of downtown West Palm Beach in northeastern Palm Beach County, the Town of Jupiter has a population of around 60,000 residents. According to the town’s Web site, Jupiter has progressed from a pioneer village for anglers and animal trappers in the early 1900s to one of the “most desired” places to live in Florida.

Nearly 80 percent of the town’s population is over 18, with approximately 20 percent of that figure 65 and over.
Although the Town of Jupiter historically has a below average fatal accident ratio as compared to the Florida average, the town does have a higher than average amount of fatal accidents caused by drunken drivers (per 100,000 population).

In 2008, drunk drivers were the cause of 92 accidents, or approximately 17.9 percent of all crashes. In total, 514 vehicle crashes occurred in the Town of Jupiter.

The Town of Jupiter’s office is located at 210 Military Trail in the Jupiter ZIP code of 33458. The contact phone number for the office is 561-746-5134 and the phone number for non-emergency police matters is 561-746-6201.
